INTRODUCTION OF Operating System

An Operating System OS is Collection of  System program that manages all the other program Application program is a computer as well as the allocation and use the hardware resources such as the CPU {Central Processing Unit } Memory and the Hard disk  drive (HDD) . It Controls and facilitates  the overall operation of a computer . It acts as an interface between the hardware and the user level program .

  • File  Management

Responsible  for maintenance of a file system , in which the users are allowed  to create , delete and move files.  

  • Memory Management
It means allocation of main memory and secondary storage areas to the system programs as well as user programs and data .
  • Process Management
It means assigning  processor to different  tasks which has to be performed by the computer .
  • User Interface
Software as well as hardware to the various users of the system.
  • Manage Input/Output

Co-ordinates and assignment of different  output and input devices while one or more programmes are being executed .
